    Default Oly 50-200mm Images

A big thank you to all the folks here who gave advice on my next lens purchase and who encouraged me to get the Oly 50-200.

I was late in using it as I hurt my back. It just sat for one whole week. Still getting used to using it and my back was still hurting a bit when I took these and had to pitch a few due to camera shake. Some of these are soft as well, but I can live with it.

Here's a link to the images with this lens. I used an E-510 body with a FL-36 flash on some shots. The ones in the park are all 50-200, while the beach shots are with a Sigma 30mm prime.

Taking it out again tomorrow for a 2nd go around!!

    Thanks again,
    Steve

    Default Nice work!

I really enjoyed these. The lighting is really nice, did you use any reflectors for fill or was it simply natural light (plus the FL-36 that you mentioned). What time of day was it? I'm also curious about your post-processing because i think you've done a nice job on her skin.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Nice Shots!

I was convinced to buy the 50-200mm instead of the Sigma's for telephoto. I too found this lens very sharp. However, using it with the EC-20 is very difficult for birding. I guess I will need sometime to adjust. I still miss my 70-300mm. The weight is much lighter and using it hand held. But I notice that I get sharper photo from the 200mm than the 70-300mm.

Maybe I should get a EC-14 for the seek and shoot type of bird photography, while saving the EC-20 for the tripod mounted behind the blind photography.
