    Default Mud Creek Road, Maine

I was driving along Mud Creek Road in Maine under a driving rain when I saw this unusual structure. I popped out of the car just long enough to capture a single image and then retreated to the warmth of my vehicle. I really didn't get a chance to explore the building, but my best guess is that it was serving as a combination barn, garage and living quarters.

Pretty cool, Bob. That building just begs for someone to capture some of those details.

It is a very unsual house with a lot of character; it would be nice to see a few close ups. Great shooting, E B!

Thank you. If the rain hadn't been so heavy I would have stayed to see what else I could have discovered about the building. Maybe next trip.

Thank you. I'll explore this structure more thoroughly on my next trip there. Hopefully the lighting will be better also.

Nice building. Are you in Acadia now, EB?

Thank you. Actually, I'm home now. I had been viewing Ken Burns' Civil War on DVD and noticed the repetitive references to Deer Isle, Maine, so I decided to drive over and have a look for myself. Deer Isle is much bigger than I expected and didn't provide the type of image that I was looking for so passed on that. I did stop at Acadia, but that was really incidental to my trip's main purpose and, combined with bad weather, didn't get many images there either. A lot of road construction in the Acadia vacinity right now so time consuming getting around there.

Yeah, sorry about the lousy weather! It really hasn't been much of a summer or fall this year. Lots of drizzly gray days.
