Default The Little Valley (1 IMG)

is one of the places that I visit frequently every spring and fall. I like to see the different lighting, weather and vegetation as it all interplays here. Occasionally I'm blessed with some wildlife sightings also. Bears and wolves frequent this area as well as many grazing animals of all sizes.

Nice shot, EB, and a beautiful spot. It's nice to have a few of those 'special' places to keep an eye on.

    Hi EB -
Just curious, what's the elevation there, it goes from sagebrush to treeline and then above treeline quite quickly. Also where is the little valley? As always a very nice landscape and done just the way I like them, crisp and colorful. Thanks for sharing.
    Best Regards, Jim

Wow, that's just gorgeous. And the composition is really nice, leading your eye up to the beautiful mountain at the top. Love it!

Thank you. The floor of the valley is about 7,200 feet in elevation. The water is the Gardiner River near where it intersects with the border of Yellowstone NP. I took the picture while standing on the end of a bridge crossing the valley. Lots of folks cross that bridge every day without giving a thought to what it is they are crossing.

Thank you for showing this scene, which --it almost goes without saying by now-- is very nicely done! Great country, and it's evident you've come to know it well. ~Ken

Thank you. I really enjoy the west and travel there whenever possible. I've considered moving out there but that's probably more idle speculation than anything else at my time in life.

There are so many lovely scenic shots on this forum, technically correct, great color, focus, composition, etc., but some just appeal to me more than others. This is the kind of country that draws me, makes me wish I could explore it from the back of a good horse.

Lots of folks cross that bridge every day without giving a thought to what it is they are crossing.
. . . or to who has crossed before them over the centuries.

    Well done!

Well, glad you enjoyed the image. Mentioning horses though, this image was taken just a half dozen miles or so from a facility that provides guided horseback tours through the area.
