    Default New firmware coming to Panasonic ?

    On Panasonic page is a link to new firmware but couldn't find any new firmware yet. Maybe coming soon?

    Says right on the page:

    The new firmware will be available worldwide at GMT: 8:00 the 10th of May, 2010 at http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/.

    Well the bottom of the page you linked says the firmware will be available on May 10th.

    So, it looks like both Olympus and Panasonic have started to release firmware on specific dates, rather than just randomly throw them out when they are ready (Olympus' release is on Thursday).

    My excitement for these firmware updates is palpable. It seems that with contrast detection AF, it's a lot easier for manufacturers to improve algorithms in flashable firmware. It's a credit to Olympus and Panasonic that they have chosen to do so. Not all camera manufacturers are so customer-friendly (ahem, Canon).
