Very sad, and so true. My heart hurts for you. They never really leave us - they're always with us in our hearts. Would I trade the pain of losing a beloved dog (or horse) for the absence of one in my life? Never! Michelle is right - when it's time, you'll be "found". A beautiful portrait with which to remember Buddy.

So sorry to hear about Buddy. That's such a hard thing to go through. The great thing is that you have a lot of memories and captured tons of images I'm sure. When I was 12 I got my first dog, Candy, for Christmas. I also got a Kodak Disc camera (anyone remember those awful things?). Candy was a natural model, a mutt (half schnauzer, half cocker spaniel), but so darn cute and patient with my sister and brother and I wrestling with her and dressing her up. I took so many pictures of that silly dog. Every mow and then I go back through them and they never fail to make me smile. Hope you get to that point eventually, even though it's painful right now.

My condolences for your loss. Sad to lose a friend, a member of the family. 13 years is a good long life for a dog, and Buddy will live in your memory forever. Cherish that memory

    The fine portrait will help.
