Default Review of the 9mm-18mm Standard Lens??

    Hi All,
Has anyone done a review of the 9mm-18mm lens? I am considering it for my landscape and travel pics and I can't seem to find any pics taken with this lens. I am worried about the "fisheye effect"...I don't want my pics to be all distorted and warped. For those of you who have this lens, how do you like it? If someone could post some pics (or links thereto) I would sure appreciate it. Even Oly doesn't show what the pictures look like with this lens!

Here are a couple, both with sample photos:

Distortion is pretty low on this lens. You are most likely only going to notice it when shooting architecture, or if you go looking to demonstrate it. (The 'infamous' brick wall test.) It is a great lens, light and relativly small, you you are very likely to actually carry and use it!

Thanks for the review and the links JBC. It looks like something I will, when $$$ allows, add to my repertoire! Maybe Santa will bring it in his bag of presents *hint Honey*

The DPreview link is a good one...I looked up a couple other lenses to see what they had to say about them. But I couldn't find anything on the 70-300mm standard lens! Might be something they could review in the future.

I love this lens and have spent quite a bit of time with it on the front of the camera, it is a perfect Landscape lens for sure. I also use it quite a bit for some panormas, very little distortion and amazing depth of field. You can easily get real close to something in the forground and have sharp focus all the way to infinity!

    Here are a couple shots...

The above is a single shot, below is a 7 shot panorama...

This is another panorama about 6 or seven shots

Buy it, you will love it!!

I've had one on my Olympus E-510 for a couple years. It is my main lens and used for landscapes almost always at 9-11mm.

I rarely see these for sale used. Is that because they are so popular that people do not want to part with them?

Great review man. This is hands down one of the best SE figures ever made. I love looking at it every day.

I think it is because they are popular. Had no problems selling mine a month ago. Can't say the same for the rest of my lenses.
