This one is not terribly recent; but, I won't let that hold me back.... this is about 6 miles from my home. Some tone mapping involved in the processing to bring out some highlights in the shadow areas under the trees, and emphasize the colors a bit....

Here is one of the first sunset pics I have done with my E510. Still gotta get the hang of these settings. 08/31/10; 150mm; F8; ISO100; 1/350.
This was taken just down the road from my house in SEMO. Gotta love sunsets!
Some very nice work guys.
I especially enjoy seeing the diverse landscapes.
Not to single anyone out but perhaps we need to give MikeL some points for the deer, he, he...
Hopefully this will motivate others to get out and do some new work
Cheers, Don

No points deserved for those deer. They're in a Nat'l Pk and practically tame.some points for the deer, he, he...Too much trouble to chase 'em away.

Here are a couple I took within an hour of each other and a couple of miles apart. Both from West Cork, on the south coast of Ireland.
Thank you Don for starting this assignment, it's nice to see the different sunsets from all over the world.
This one is from north west of Auckland, New Zealand.
After Nov 10: tonight 7:30 pm
Close to home: from/on our deck
The good thing is that we can see this almost every day this time of year, the bad thing is it only last for maybe 10-15 minutes, at the most.

There are some lovely sunsets in this thread.
Here's one from this summer from Lista, south Norway.
I didn't plan to take a picture of a cow, but the picture is one of my favorites from the trip...

Sunseting over Victoria. Taken Tuesday evening. As you can see some of Don's weather has leaked out the Fraser Rver.

Putnam County, Missouri on the farm of Hercel Alexander (Wife's grandfather). Caught this sky as we finished a day of deer hunting. Needless to say all of the deer got to enjoy this as well.

This was one of my favorites. It was taken by my 14 year old son Ryan with an E-510 I had just picked up for him on eBay. Freezing cold at Smithville Lake, just north of Kansas City. I did a little PS on it, but this was basically what we were looking at.

Sorry Tim, neither the picture upload or the links work for me, sigh...
