Nice, just like in my childhood...

And -22C might be cold or might be not so cold, depends on other factors - wind, humidity...
If you're in an island with a water around you - -22C is pretty cold. If you're in continental, let's say even in Siberia- it's not cold...

I'm on an island with water all around (duh!) and +10C. -22 C or F is pretty cold where ever you are.

No MikeL, not true. I've been in Siberia, in Novosibirsk in '86 or '87, it was -15C, bright sunny day, I was walking with open/unzipped parka...it was pretty pleasant...However, here in New York - which is all on islands except The Bronx, in -15C I would be freezing...to the my bones marrows...
There are days in New York in summer, when I feel like a fish in the water - when humidity is almost or 100%.
However, I've been in the same Novosibirsk in summer, there's a beach by the river - was hard to stand on the sand -feet were burning, but was much easier to breath - nice clean air - no humidity...

Recently, while I watch weather on the news, it's kinda funny to hear: 32F, but feels like 10F...Feels for whom and why?
First, 32F is 32F, no way it can be less or more. Need to know other factors - wind, direction of the wind, humidity...etc....
To bad, on the News say only: "32F, but feels like 10F", they forget to tell my fellow americans, how it would feel if you go outside with a t-shirt or wearing a wool coat...Because, when I know, outside is 32F(or 0C) and if I go outside wearing my Alpha Industries parka, I feel, like it's 70 or 80......So, "News Weather Report" is right?

Lies!!! That's what everyone tried to tell me when I got here! But when you come from Aus (my girlfriend recorded 43C today in Perth) -22C is bloody cold, no matter how dry and still it is

Aren't you in or near Helsinki? That town is bloody cold when it is -10C! Weather-wise, that is

Yep in Helsinki. It seems pretty dry here though, and there wasn't any wind until last night (god it was cold...)

On the way over it was about -5C in Rotterdam with 90% RH and a nice breeze and I don't think I've ever been colder, so I know what you mean!

It's called "wind chill" and there are formulae for it. http://www.weather.gov/om/windchill/
Basically it is based on how fast you will lose heat through exposed skin. It is very important in areas like where I live since the difference in how long your skin can be exposed before you get frostbite varies depending on wind speed. You can start talking about cold when it gets down to around -35F with wind chills down in the -70F to -80F range. I have seen it happen more than once around here.
