    Default Prints online for Canadians?

For those in Canada, what online services do you recommend for ordering quality prints online?

I have some nice family photos I would like to get printed in 8x10 in high quality, but I ain't going to WalMart this time!

Something like Shutterfly, but in Canada, so that shipping is quicker and cheaper.

    Thanks for any tips!

Well, Black's did okay for a couple of mine.
London Drugs might be ok as well, dunno, haven't used them & I don't know if they do online, or if you have to go in.

London Drugs, didn't even know you could get them printed there.

I wonder if Shutterfly is still a good option for Canadians? Seems like shipping isn't bad, but I wonder about Custom fees and taxes on top of it?

I used Shutterfly for 3 - 10" x 14"s and discovered I don't care to have them rolled up in a tube. The prints were also dark.

On the other hand I've used Don's Photo's and Phase Two locally and the prints were excellent.

Even if they are not really "online", Costco is hard to beat.

    I love their 11x14

I'm lucky to have a very good quality printer near by, Boylan Imaging, Medicine Hat. I know they print and mail.

Costco is very, very good. I haven't had a picture processed poorly that wasn't my own fault. They also have unlimited online storage space for your photos (I believe you can share them online as well) as long as you order some prints once every 6 months or a year. Very inexpensive, and they often have specials that can't be beat (10 cent 4x6s or a free 8x10 every once in a while).

London Drugs used to be exceptional but now it is all automatized and can be pretty sketchy. BUT if you actually talk with the photo lab technician, he or she will process your prints manually for you, and they do a very good job of it. If you are unsatisfied with the prints, they will redo them at no charge as well. So the service and quality is there, but you have to request it.

Vistek and Black's also do photofinishing, but I haven't used them.

Do they actually ship prints, or is it only on-line order for local store pick-up?

Sorry, I thought they shipped but it looks like they only do in-store pickup.

    I decided to give Pikto a try - http://www.pikto.ca/online/index.php

Slick Java applet that makes it very easy.

Will report back when I get the prints.
