Default How long did it take to get your E-M5?

I ordered mine from B&H Photo on April 15th. Still waiting for it. When I last called, they said they have been getting units in and shipped quite a few to folks on the back order list. It just seems o be taking forever!

Almost three months but I had a friend order one last week and she indicated to me she would have it Thursday or Friday this week.

Many smaller stores have them in stock, or with a few days wait, tops. Both Dodd's Camera (OH) and Camera Land (NY) had them as of Sunday.

Ordered mine (black w/ 12-50) from B&H just before Passover break (whenever that was) and received it at the end of May. Is yours the silver kit, or something unusual?

    Cheers,

    Rick

Ordered mine from Amazon in mid June when the were showing them in stock. Had it within three days. Black with the 12-50mm lens. I have heard that the body only ones were the hardest to get.

Black/12-50/Grip/MMF3. Ordered on announcement day from the local, and received it about 2 weeks ago. I have a chrome body on order, as well as a couple of OEM batteries and FL300. No word on them yet. I have used the OMD for grandkids swimming classes, a whale watch trip off the Oregon coast, several informal shoots, some product shots with both 12-60 and 14-150, and all is quite remarkable so far. Cheers!

I ordered the black body only + MMF-3 + HLD-6 +EP-11 eyecup + 3 batteries from Adorama on May 3 and received everything but the batteries 7 weeks later. Still waiting for the Oly batteries, but a couple 3rd party batteries are working fine.

Well, I finally got my OMD yesterday! Two day free UPS shipping from B&H.

I unpacked it, and have done a few test shots with my 20mm F1.7 and using the MMF adapter, with the 25mm Leica. The camera is really, really cool! It is taking some time to set it up and understand all the menus, etc. It is slightly different than the EP1 or EP3. I did not even realize for the first hour that the shutter button has a rotating dial on it. (How you set aperture and shutter speed in manual... there are TWO dials) The electronic view finder is neat and automatically turns off the main screen when you look though it.

Autofocus on both lenses inside is ok, not super fast, but then these aren't Olympus lens either. I have to test out some others as well. The dynamic range of the camera seems really good. I need to do some sunset/early evening city shots around DC to really see just how well this works.

Once I start venturing out and about, I will have a chance to see how the camera really works. Initial impressions, it is well made, solid. Very similar in design to my old OM4, and actually quite small. it looks very functional and sturdy. The only issues so far are not being able to stow the big screen ( like the E620 can) and seemingly not able to change certain settings under PASM individually. Ie, I might want auto ISO for P but ISO 200 for A. Can't seem to do that just yet. More reading and learning will be necessary!

Ordered mine through my local dealer two days after it was announced back in... January? I forget...

    Got it mid April.

12-50 and 45 1.8 are very quick focusers. I use my 4/3 PL25 quite a bit, AF is pretty good. Also use my 50-200 on it, despite the somewhat iffy AF, in the 1.5 to 2 second range. M43 does not have a lens like that.

I had asked my favorite store to notify me as soon as they had one, I went in the day they called and bought it, that was July 2, it was probably a couple weeks between asking and buying. I went in last week, July 23rd, to drop off some equipment for consignment and they had another one sitting behind the counter, I inquired if it was spoken for, they replied no, to which I said "it is now..." So for me, it was pretty easy to acquire the two I now have and am enjoying immensely...

Mine's not here yet, and I'm frustrated....

Was there something I was supposed to do to get one?

Technically a secret but I'm permitted to tell you a goat sacrifice is part of the process. You should have received instructions upon applying.

    Much luck!

It took one day for me to get my E-M5, 12-50 and Fl-600 flash. I went into my local dealer the first of June and inquired about the camera. The salesman told me about a person who had ordered a black body E-M5 kit with the 12-50 lens and had failed to follow through with the purchase. I was able to purchase the kit, grip and Fl-600 flash that day without having to wait for my system. I was able to purchase my second black body E-M5 and grip last month without any waiting as well.
