    Default Bogen 3080 Head

Manual Wanted for Bogen 3080 head.
After dusting off the older tripod and head I found that I did not understand some of the sublte adjustments. "Surfing" led me to hundreds of suggestive pages but after 45 pages one eye spoke to my common sense. Anyone have a URL? TIA

I am unable to find any hits for Bogen or Manfrotto 3080 head. You sure it's 3080?

Also, what is it you don't understand? Maybe someone here could answer something specific.

I checked again with Sherlock's favorite tool -it is 3080. Embeded at an upper corner are two levels. There are recessed set screws that probably allow their replacement. Am I to presume that they are manufactured and installed square and level; or, how do I "adjust" them. The other quandry is a knurled brass screw on the back side, underneath the head that appears to have no obvious purpose. Operating the levers smoothly is going to be like leaning to milk

Guilty of some kind of mind-blindness In spite of using a magnifier to be able to read the fine print, in spite of getting out my trusty C2100 UZI>on macro to send 4 good images of the writing on the Bogen head I transposed some numbers and "3038" became "3080" Wrong !. The Bogen people also asked me to check the number as there was no "3080". You all were right, my mind was wrong. I told myself it was 3080 but did not see the facts. : (

No problem. I do such things a lot. However, I do wonder if giving yourself a forum name of "Clueless" might be a contributing factor!?!

Rich, "Clueless" is my legal first name. Is it a mantra that others sound; but, that this person hears? While conventionally the term is derogative and "they" (those owned by convention) are ambivalent about it use -that's not the my intent; rather, it is a cue to those that might consider that something "different" is going on here.

I'd say that now you are playing with my head, but that would be too outrageous a pun even for the likes of me!
