    Default Season Opener

So, here's another attempt at posting in IE10.

This particular four-shot handheld panorama was shot last weekend in the lower Welland Canal locks in St. Catharines as one of the first boats of the season makes its way to Lake Ontario.

We are having a very late spring around here, but the canal has been completely ice-free for a few weeks now. In case you are reading exif data, yes, I just happened to have the TC20 in my pocket, so I threw it on the 35-100mm rather than rummage around in my backpack for the 150mm. I still haven't figured out how to maintain quality in these big pano posts - this appears soft compared to the tack-sharp original, but I guess that is what happens when you reduce 9000 pixels down to 1500 pixels on the long side

At least I timed this one correctly - the beautiful sunset colours were captured during what seems like the four hours so far this spring when the sun has been shining.

    four shot pano, E-5, 35-100mm+TC20 (@136mm), ISO400, f71.1, 1/250
