Does anyone have a copy of Studio 2 for MAc that I could have? I want to retry tethering my E-5, and I can't find my original version. Thanks.

You used to be able to download it free from Olympus but I am not sure if they are still doing that. https://emporium.olympus.com/downloads/OS202EN.dmg

The link still works. Okay for the bad news it stopped working for me in Snow Leopard. So if you have a Mac running 10.5 it will work Olympus did not update the code for 64 bit. In windows you could copy some file(dll's) and it would work in newer versions but I am not a true windows person as I have it in a virtual machine.
Anyway hope this works

That link isn't for Studio...
This appears to be another way to get it

As Don said, that isn't Studio, and Capture isn't compatible with the E-x line, only E-Mx. I've emailed Oly to see if they would add compatibility. I can't see why not (except that they don't sell E-5 any more), after all the E-x bodies all have a control mode, and the warning notice says that Capture might not work with a FireWire cable - which IIRC is only used on the E-1!

Thats the problem. I used my original, then Olympus gave me two more that did not work then the "free" ones when they gave the software out. What I failed to mention it will work in Snow Leopard if you force the OS into 32 bit mode. I wished they would have given the code to open source community but I realize part of it belong to coders that made SilkyPix™ and maybe they could not do that. The reason I say that is a fellow re-compiled the Boot_EFI 64 bit to make 32 bit calls. I was able to get my 2006 MacPro Tower to run Maverick. Those guys are working on making that same Boot_EFI to work in Yosemite as Apple changed the Kernel name and also changed location.
You probably need 10.5 DVD and see if you still have it then get a spare drive and see if it can install. Another way is see if someone has an old laptop with XP Windows version on it; maybe on Craigslist or in the newspaper.
I cheated got myself a D7000 and run it through Lightroom.

It's weird that the software runs, but won't accept a licence key.
Oh well, I have an XP laptop, I'll use that.

Thomas,
WooHoo the 2006 Mac Pro Tower is running 10.10 OS not bad for an 8 year old. The boot time on the 1T mechanical drive is quicker around 45 sec which is amazing and the SSD boot drive still under 15 sec this is from the chime to log on screen. All apps work fine.
I did end up getting a refurb MacBook Pro over the new Mac Mini as they soldered the RAM and made it more difficult to get inside. I opted for the refurb as I can 16GB RAM and easily replace the hard drive and even remove the cd-rom and put a hard drive in it.
Good luck on the XP and Studio 2.
