Default Seven Types of Wildlife in a Russet Theme...

...or a reddish-brown mode, or a rust-colored genre, etc. ...Well, you get the idea.

Female Northern Harrier in flight; Red Fox kit; Red-tailed Hawk, Sandhill Crane; young Great Horned Owl; Female Swainson's Hawk with chicks; and Bull Elk
    ~Ken

Almost all taken with the 300/2.8 lens and most had the 2X teleconverter (the owl was with the 150/2.0,) Almost all with the E-5, but a couple of older shots were with the E-3.

Lovely. I also like the elk shot the best. After many months of not having the internet, I'm finally back on, and with a newer computer and descent monitor.

Thanks, everyone! I like the fact that the elk is not in some meadow but, instead, in fallen timber and good cover, just the way they like it. It might be a long time until I get an elk shot that compares with this one.

    Nice series, Ken.
Just to be different, my fave is the fox.

It about ties the elk for me, I must say. Close shot, very sharp, with lots of subtle things in the out-of-focus areas, so... Thanks for the comment!

Great series - they would make a wonderful set of notecards (for anyone who still writes these days), or prints.

Wow! Very nice set of images, I really like the hawk with the children (#6), the detail is great and I love the expression on the parent's face!
