    Default Screen Protectors

I've never used one. The screen on the E-3 folded in so it wasn't a problem. However, the screen on the E-M1 is exposed all the time. I'm particularly concerned about it swinging around my neck rubbing on buttons and the like. One would hope Oly had taken that into consideration when specifying the glass hardness but who knows. Discussion on the need for screen protectors on other sites quickly become emotional. I don't want to start an emotive argument but I'd like to know if others here think it a concern or not.

I have always used them on my cameras (including e-3 and e-30 with screens you can turn in), cell phones, tablets, etc. I've never had anything bad happen from using a screen protector, but I've seen plenty of scratched up screens from those that don't use them. I like the Zagg Invisible Shield, but there are other good ones out there.

The Expert Shield Crystal Clear screen protector arrived from B&H arrived today. As I cleaned the screen I noticed I already had a couple of small scratches. I must say, with my poor eyes, the protector was very fiddly to put on. It comes as a three layered sandwich and I was never sure which layer I was peeling off. After getting it on, the scratches on the glass were no longer evident so I guess it went on OK.

BTY, in the same parcel came a Think Tank battery holder for 2. It holds two BLN-1's perfectly.

I bought screen protectors for my 8" tablet - they came in a 3-pack. I ruined 2 of them trying to put them on without any air bubbles. I got so frustrated that I gave up and never tried the 3rd. It is easier with a small screen, but they can be very hard to install, IMHO.

Ever since my E-330 screen 'wore out' after a 2 day holiday against my shirt front, I have put screen protectors on all my new cameras from the first day.
Mind you, I think Olympus have improved considerably the coating since that model. I will continue to do it though, having had no problems with any of the protectors since.

Use them on all my stuff also... I use Xpert shield, a bit expensive but fit perfect and no bubbles
