Default # young ladies from a local college

these young ladies took part in a TFCD shoot. I would like your input on how I did, and what you think should be changed for next time

Bob, I generally like your images, but my very first impression was that they are a little harsh, over-sharpened. Too much contrast for the subject, some softening would make all the difference. Clicking and viewing the larger image confirms that.
    Other than that, very nice.

    Cheers,
    Don

I always hesitate to ever critique someones efforts - But when I first looked at these pics my first thought was 'he certainly didn't do the young ladies any favours with the processing' so I am pleased to see a couple of the 'experts' shared my thoughts - Basically the end results are way to harsh to my eye-

agree.. there is no softness, and even their expressions are also not as fine as they should

To all who took the time to comment on these images, THANK YOU.
For this project I was inspired by the work of George Hurrell. I wanted a bolder, more shadows lighting effect. On these 3 images, I may have gone too far on the post processing.
for the background I worked with what I have. The outfits are what the girls, college students, brought. If you are so inclined please check out modelmayhem #384389. Please keep the comments coming its how I get better.
    Thaks Again, Bob W.

Very refreshing to hear the philosophy behind the way you went about it Bob, particularly in giving the girls some personal control. It looks as though they really engaged.
I would love to see you post a couple of slightly less 'urgent' post processing versions. Might show the critics as wrong (me)
    Cheers,
    Don

Here are two more images from my college TFCD session.

I have tried to put a little more effort into the post processing, and to try and present these more as formal portraits.
    Your comments PLEASE.

Nice works but they have to much contrast. I think you should work with it. Keep doing.
