    Default Upgrading sensors

Could it be it possible to upgrade the sensor in a camera, say put an em1 sensor into an e5, or is it far too complex for that.
It just seems to me that instead of having to buy a whole new camera to get higher resolution etc, if manufacturers could make it so that you could upgrade the old sensor with the new one, cameras would last so much longer.
    Just a thought.

There has been discussions on other systems about this.
It would be costlier than you think because the image engine and related hardware would have to be changed as well.
There is wear and tear on other parts that may fail after the change.
it would also not be as cleanly profitable for a manufacturer. I think they’d rather sell a new body complete.
